About the Rotary Del Sol Foundation
The Rotary Del Sol Foundation, Inc. (RDSF) is a New Mexico nonprofit corporation and a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, created in 1997 to support the charitable and fundraising efforts of the Rotary Club of Albuquerque Del Sol — receiving contributions from members and the community and distributing them to worthy charitable causes.
Governance & Oversight
Governed by a seven-member Board of Directors, all members of the Rotary Club of Albuquerque Del Sol, providing fiduciary oversight, strategic direction, and stewardship of Foundation assets under a formal Investment Policy.
The Permanent Fund & 20-20 Vision
In 2000, then club president Don Chalmers and others launched the “20-20 Vision,” a goal to grow the Permanent Fund to $1 million within 20 years — which the Foundation achieved! Its earnings support New Mexico children’s charities in perpetuity.
Planned Giving
The Foundation’s Joint Planned Giving program provides a thoughtful framework for gifts requiring specialized management — including real estate, non-cash assets, or gifts with specific conditions — with proper oversight and care.
The Mary Martin Fellowship
In 1999, following a generous bequest from the late Mary Martin, the Foundation created the Mary Martin Fellowship — a meaningful program to raise vital funds for New Mexico children’s charities while beautifully recognizing donors’ generosity at cumulative giving levels. Every gift makes a lasting difference!
